Google Ads Assets: Current Rules, Built for Your Account
Google Ads assets keep changing. Kyō checks Google's live Help Center, explains what fits your campaign, and her team writes the assets for you to add.

You look up how Google Ads assets work today and get three different answers. A blog post from two years ago still calls them “extensions.” A forum thread describes a setting you cannot find. An AI chatbot gives you a confident character limit, and you cannot tell whether it is current.
That costs you. You build a promotion asset to rules that have changed. You lose an afternoon hunting for an option that moved. Or you skip assets altogether, because working out which ones suit your business feels like a project. Meanwhile your ads run without the sitelinks, callouts, prices and promotions that could make them bigger and more useful to searchers.
Kyō, who leads Kyōsey AI’s team of AI experts, closes that gap. Before she answers anything about assets that can change, she checks Google’s current Help Center and cites the page. Then she and her Google Ads expert put that knowledge to work on your connected account and draft the assets that fit, with the steps to add them. Nothing goes live until you say OK.
Why Not Just Read Google’s Help Center Yourself?
It is a fair question. Google’s documentation is the source of truth, and Kyō treats it that way. But reading it is the easiest of four jobs.
- Finding the right article. Google’s guidance on ad formats, assets and landing pages is spread across many pages, and several topics nest inside others. Kyō knows where each format and asset type is documented and goes straight to the page that answers your question.
- Interpreting it for your situation. A Help Center page explains how an asset works for everyone. It does not say whether it suits a plumber’s emergency-call campaign or a shop’s spring sale. Kyō explains what the rule means for you, in plain words.
- Applying it to your account. Kyōsey AI connects to your Google Ads account and your other data. Working across that data, Kyō and her Google Ads expert can see which campaigns already use which assets and where the gaps are.
- Doing the work. With the rule clear and the gap found, the team drafts the assets for your business and brings them to you, with the steps to add them.
The Help Center gives you the rules. Kyō and her team give you the rules applied, with the source attached so you can check the work.
An Example: A Seasonal Sale, Start to Finish
Say you run a garden centre and you are planning a spring sale. You ask Kyō whether a promotion asset makes sense.
She fetches Google’s current page on promotion assets and reads it as it stands today, not as she remembers it. She tells you in plain words what the asset can show and what Google requires for it to be eligible, and links the article. Her Google Ads expert then looks at your account, identifies which campaigns the sale belongs in, notices which supporting assets are missing, and drafts a set for your review.
Here is the kind of draft you would see. It is an illustrative example, not real account data:
Promotion: Spring sale: 20% off perennials and shrubs, valid through the end of the month
Sitelinks:
- Spring Planting Guide: what to plant now for summer colour
- Visit Our Nursery: opening hours, directions and parking
Callouts:
- Locally grown plants
- Free advice from our growers
Source checked: Google Ads Help, promotion assets article (link to the page as fetched on the day)
Each line is checked against the specifications on Google’s live pages before it reaches you, rather than a limit recalled from memory. You edit it, decline it or add it in Google Ads with the steps she gives. Nothing goes live without your OK.
Why Advice On Google Ads Assets Goes Out of Date
Assets look simple: a few lines of text, a link, an image, a phone number. The rules around them are not. Names change, as “extensions” became “assets.” Specifications, eligibility and setup steps are revised. New formats appear, including AI-powered experiences, while others are reshaped or retired.
AI models add a further risk. A language model learns from data collected at one point in time, and on fast-moving product details it can be fluent, confident and wrong.
So Kyō’s rule is strict. For specifications, limits, availability, setup steps, feature names and policy, she fetches Google’s current article first, answers from it and cites it. She answers from what she knows only for stable, conceptual questions, such as what an asset is for. If she cannot verify something, she says plainly that the answer is unverified and may be out of date.
This is how experienced strategists work. Kyōsey AI’s skills are the methods of experienced strategists, more than 100 person-years of agency experience, written down so the agents follow them every time.
What Kyō Covers: Formats, Assets And Landing Pages
Ad formats. Responsive search ads, responsive display ads, image, video, call, local, hotel, text, custom (uploaded) ads, comparison, mobile, creator partnerships and the newer AI-powered experiences. Ask what a format is for, whether it suits your campaign or what it needs from you.
Ad assets. Sitelinks, callouts, images, location, price, promotion, seller ratings, call and the other asset types Google documents, plus Asset studio.
Landing pages. Google’s guidance on landing-page testing, performance evaluation, optimisation and crawlability.
What You Get
| You ask | What you get |
|---|---|
| “Which assets are we missing?” | Kyō and her Google Ads expert review your connected account, list the gaps and draft assets to fill them, each with the Google source cited |
| “How do I set up a price or promotion asset?” | Today’s setup steps and options from Google’s current article, linked, plus a draft built for your business |
| “What are the limits for sitelinks?” | The current specifications, taken from Google’s live documentation, not recalled |
| “Which ad formats would suit this campaign?” | A plain explanation of the relevant formats, based on Google’s current pages |
| “Can we test a new landing page?” | Google’s current testing options, explained for your situation and linked |
The value is practical: less time cross-checking, less risk of building to old rules, and assets written and ready to add instead of sitting on a to-do list.
When a question needs more depth, such as exact dimensions, a quality review of your ad copy and images, improving Ad Strength, or Performance Max asset groups, the relevant expert on the team takes it on. You can see the full team and the platforms it connects to on the Features page.
Who This Is for
- Business owners running their own Google Ads who want the right assets in place without an afternoon of research.
- In-house marketers who need a current, sourced answer to share with their team, and help getting the work done.
- Agencies that want every client account built to Google’s current documentation, not to whatever someone happens to remember.
A regional HVAC company weighing call and location assets and an online store setting up seasonal promotions share the same need: the current rule, applied to their account, and the asset written.
