Cancellation And Refund Policy

How to cancel Kyōsey AI, what happens at the end of your billing period, and what is refunded: the unused money you added to your wallet. Subscription fees and promotional credit are not refunded.

Effective

This policy is part of our Terms & Conditions (section 5.7) and applies to Kyōsey AI accounts paid by card. If you have an order form or a written agreement with us, for example on the Enterprise plan, its cancellation terms apply instead.

1. How You Pay for Kyōsey

  • A monthly subscription fee. It starts after your free trial. The amount depends on your plan and on the brands and stores in your account, and Kyōsey shows it (Settings → Billing) before it applies to you. It is charged at the end of each billing period, with an invoice.
  • The wallet, for the AI you use. AI processing is paid in advance from your wallet. You add money to it by card, and each use is deducted at the rates Kyōsey shows when the use happens.
  • Promotional credit. We may add credit to your wallet, such as a welcome credit when you sign up. It is used before the money you added.
  • Taxes are calculated by our payment processor, Stripe, and shown on each charge and invoice.

2. How to Cancel

You can cancel at any time, including during the free trial:

  • in Kyōsey: Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription; or
  • by writing to us at support@kyosey.com from the email address on your account.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Until then you can keep using Kyōsey, including the money in your wallet. You can change your mind and undo the cancellation before the period ends.

Deleting your account (Settings → Account) cancels the subscription too, and your wallet is settled the same day, in the same way as below. Your invoices and payment records are kept, as the law requires.

3. What Happens at The End of The Billing Period

When the period in which you cancelled ends:

  1. The last subscription fee is charged for that period, as usual. If you cancel during the free trial, nothing is charged.
  2. Your wallet is settled. We refund the unused balance of the money you added to your wallet to the payment method you paid with, less a processing fee. Promotional credit is used first, so what is refunded is your remaining balance, up to the total you added yourself, less the fee.
  3. Your account is closed for new use. You can still sign in to see your invoices.

The processing fee. When we refund a card payment, our payment processor keeps the card fees it charged on that payment. To cover them, a processing fee, shown in Kyōsey (Settings → Billing) before you cancel, is kept from the refund. If the unused money you added is no more than that fee, it is kept as the fee and nothing is refunded. If none of your own money is left, for example when you only used promotional credit, there is no fee. The fee and the refund each appear as a line in your wallet.

Refunds are sent within 5 business days of the end of the billing period. Your bank or card issuer may take another 5 to 10 business days to show them. Taxes charged on a refunded top-up are refunded with it.

An example. You signed up and received a $10 welcome credit, then added $50 yourself. You used $25 of AI before the end of the period in which you cancelled. The $25 came first from the $10 credit, then $15 from your own money, so $35 of your own money is unused: if the processing fee is $3, $32 is refunded to your card.

Another example. You signed up during the free trial, used $1 of the $10 welcome credit and cancelled. Nothing is charged, nothing is refunded and there is no processing fee; the $9 of credit stays in your wallet if you reopen your account.

4. Reopening Your Account

Before the cancellation takes effect, you can undo it in Settings → Billing, and nothing changes. After your account is closed, you can reopen it there at any time: it is billed again from the day you reopen it, and it starts with what is left in your wallet. After the free trial, a card is needed. An account we closed because you broke our Terms is reopened only by us: write to support@kyosey.com.

5. What Is Not Refunded

  • Subscription fees. A fee charged for a billing period is not refunded, including for a period in which you used Kyōsey little or not at all.
  • Promotional credit, such as a welcome credit or credit from an offer. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred.
  • Money already used for AI processing.
  • Anything, if we suspend or close your account for breaking our Terms. If we act under section 16 of the Terms, for example for trying to reach other people’s accounts, attacking the security of Kyōsey or using it for something illegal, neither fees nor any wallet balance are refunded.
  • Charges from advertising platforms. Ad spend and fees charged by Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok, Shopify, OpenAI or other platforms are between you and them.

6. Payment Problems And Disputes

If you think a charge is wrong, write to support@kyosey.com before disputing it with your bank: we will look into it and correct any mistake. If a payment fails, we may pause Kyōsey until it is paid (Terms, section 5.5).

7. Your Rights Under The Law

This policy does not limit any right to a refund or cancellation that the law where you are gives you.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and change the effective date, and we will tell account holders about material changes before they take effect. A change never applies to money already in your wallet in a way that makes its refund less favorable to you.
